It seems that there are new issues and threats popping up all the time – environmental damage, climate change, species extinction, logging, renewables.
Which ones are really important? What impacts on you, your family and your community? What really matters to you?
Part of the problem is that it seems so hard to make your voice heard on issues. You might occasionally get called by a polling company, but their questions are often slanted to the answer they want. Occasionally you might fill in a survey, but can only answer the questions they ask – which might not be the ones you care about.
Unless you join action groups and march in protests, how can you access the decision makers? Most of them live within big corporations or government departments.
One of the biggest problems is the disconnect between people who care about issues – like you – and the people who make decisions about how to deal with those issues.
For you this may mean a sense of alienation and dis-empowerment… that you stop trying to make a difference because you feel your voice isn’t getting through.
For companies and governments it often means that they are making big, important decisions without really understanding how people perceive the issues.
The Futureye WikiCurve aims to help fix this problem by giving you – and millions of others – a real voice on the issues that matter.
How does it do that? Futureye has been consulting to major corporations for over a decade on Social Licence to Operate and Corporate Reputation and we have developed a tool called the Futureye Curve that tracks the maturation of social issues. Historically, it has taken consultants and experts a great deal of work to create a Futureye Curve that evaluates how an issues is evolving – which then gives insights into what kinds of things should be happening around the issue and the types of actions that are appropriate to take.
Now, we are opening up the process to the wisdom of the crowd. We have created WikiCurve, an easy to use tool that takes input from you and lots of other people around the world to help us create the Futureye Curve for important issues like alternative energy, coal power and other sustainable development topics.
The WikiCurve is really easy to use, guides you through the process and shows you the results as they are evolving. Because the WikiCurve is built around social media tools like Facebook and Twitter, you can also share your ideas with friends and encourage them to get involved.
The outcomes? Governments, NGOs and Corporations will be able to better understand how you really feel about key issues and are more likely to make decisions that have a positive impaction on your life.
So join us and have your say through WikiCurve. Just click on an issue to see the current Curve and join in.
