WikiCurve - Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect from you when you interact with WikiCurve:

1.1. Material is collected from you primarily for collation with Material provided by other users to determine attitudes and opinions in relation to issues affecting people and communities. When you sign up for WikiCurve you provide us with your name, email, gender, birth year, location and industry. You are also provided with an ability to connect via your Facebook or Twitter account and this required you to enter your log-in credentials for those Websites. WikiCurve does not store your log-in information for those sites.

1.2. WikiCurve may collect two types of information. The first type is Anonymous Information such as statistics on Website use and site activity information (such as adding an event, updating an event or voting on an event). The second type of information that WikiCurve may collect is Personal Information. WikiCurve may collect Personal Information that lets us know the specifics of who you are such as your name, email, gender, birth year, location and industry, when you provide it to us. WikiCurve may also collect access device and browser information. When you access WikiCurve from a computer, mobile phone or other device, we may collect information from that device about your browser type, location of IP address, as well as the pages you visit.

1.3. We may use "cookies" (small pieces of data we store for an extended period of time on your computer, mobile phone, or other device) to make the Website easier to use and to protect both you and WikiCurve. For example, we use them to store your login ID (but never your password) to make it easier for you to login whenever you come back to WikiCurve. We also use them to confirm that you are logged into WikiCurve, and to know when you are interacting with WikiCurve and out widgets. You can remove or block cookies using the setting in your browser, but in some cases that may impact your ability to use the Website.

2. Sharing Material on WikiCurve:

2.1 When you provide Material to WikiCurve about events, that Material is available to everyone to view. Any user may update your event entries. Your votes are aggregated with all votes for an event to determine the position on the WikiCurve graph of the event. Other users do not have access to your votes and cannot see who has made updates to the events.

2.2 Users cannot see or access your profile or your Personal Information. WikiCurve is able to access all Material that you provide but we will not share your Personal Information.

3. How we Use your Material:

3.1 WikiCurve will only use the Material provided by you to generate the Social Issues Maturation Curves (Curve) for the issues WikiCurve is tracking and to show public sentiment, thoughts and ideas relating to those issues.

3.2 We display the "full" version of each Curve on our Website. This means the version that is created is an aggregation of all events created and voted on by all users for each event. We may provide "demographic based" Curves to interested parties from time to time. Such a Curve will provide a view of how a particular group has created the Curve. For example, an African aid organisation may be interested in knowing how females in Africa have voted, so we may generate a Curve for them made up only of Material provided by users who meet those criteria. For each Curve generated, your Personal Information is used anonymously. No identifying Personal Information is provided.

3.3 Search engines may be able to index the Material you provide about events (but not your Personal Information). As such, it is possible that Material you provide may appear in search engines.

3.4 WikiCurve will only use the Personal Information you have chosen to provide us for the purpose of collating anonymous statistics to create the Curves and to provide you with updates on the issues that you have provided Material for. WikiCurve will not use your Personal Information for any other purpose without your consent. We will not provide your Personal Information to third parties (for a fee or otherwise) without your consent or unless required by law.

4. How you can Access and Change or Remove Material:

4.1 You may view and change or remove your profile Material at any time by going to your profile page and clicking "Edit My Profile". Material will be updated immediately.

4.2 You may update the Material in any event posted on WikiCurve. Please note that when you update an event, the previous Material is over-written and all other users will see your updated version when they view the event. Any user may update events that you create and you may update any event on the system. We ask that you provide the most accurate Material in your possession and adhere to our Terms of Use for any updates.

4.3 You cannot remove vote Material. If you wish to change your vote for an event, you can do so and the position of the event on the Curve will be recalculated as a result of the modified vote. Note that you may only vote once per event. If you decide to change your vote, this will not be counted as an additional vote.

4.4 Removed and deleted Material may persist in backup copies for up to 90 days. This Material will not be available to others.

5. How WikiCurve Protects your Personal Information:

5.1 If WikiCurve holds your Personal Information we will where possible provide you with access to the Personal Information on your profile to ensure that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date.

5.2 We do our best to keep your Personal Information secure. We keep your account information on a secured server behind firewall. When you enter sensitive information (such as passwords), we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We also use automated and social measures to enhance security, such as analysing account behaviour for fraudulent or otherwise anomalous behaviour, may limit use of our site features in response to possible signs of abuse, may remove inappropriate Material or links to illegal content, and may suspend or disable accounts for violations of our Terms of Use.

5.3 Although we allow you to set privacy options that limit access to your Personal Information, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other users with whom you share your Personal Information or Material. We cannot guarantee that only authorized persons will view your Personal Information. We cannot ensure that Personal Information you share on WikiCurve will not become publicly available. We are not responsible for third party circumvention of any security measures on WikiCurve. You can reduce these risks by using common sense security practices such as choosing a strong password, using different passwords for different services, and using up-to-date virus software.

5.4 If you have any complaints relating to on-line privacy issues on our Website or would like to report any violations, please notify WikiCurve. While WikiCurve accepts no liability for any material or links posted to the service, we will investigate all complaints.

Definitions:

WikiCurve, "us", "We", "our" means FutureEye Pty Ltd and the features and services we make available, including through (a) the Website and any other WikiCurve branded or co-branded websites (including sub-domains, international versions, widgets, and mobile versions) (b) our Platform; (c) other media, software, devices, or networks now existing or later developed.

Anonymous Information means information that is anonymous and non-specific statistical information such as Website use and site activity (such as adding an event, updating an event or voting on an event).

Material means text, illustrations, photos, audio, video, any combinations of these or other material on the Website including material that you post on the Website and other contributions to the maturation of social issues such as voting.

Personal Information means information that is specific to you such as your name, email, gender, birth year, location and industry and information from your computer, mobile phone or other device such as browser type, location of IP address and the pages you visit.

Use means use, copy, publicly perform or display, distribute, modify, translate, and create derivative works of.
