World record set for renewable energy investments with $286 billion

A new record was set with a total of $286 billion invested into renewable energy with coal and gas stations attracting less than half this number. These included solar, wind and other renewables and for the first time had higher invested in developing countries than developed. With adjustments for inflation, this estimates that the world has invested 2.3trillion in renewables since 2004.
