28% of World Bank investments to be spent on climate change
The World Bank is refocusing its finances on climate change, dedicating 28% of its investments to alleviating the issue. Without major action it is estimated that 100 million people will be driven into poverty over the next 15 years. This is a fundamental change for the bank which has faced scrutiny in the past for advocating high emission infrastructure.
