European Union’s Biodiversity Strategy approved by European Parliament

On February 2nd, a majority (592 to 52 MEPs) approved a biodiversity strategy that called for the protection of the European 'Nature Directives' including the Birds and Habitats Directives. The initiative also plans to align other European policies with these directives.
